IT STARTED WITH A DOG NAMED JOEY
Joey was family. A German Shepherd and Boxer mix with delightful silliness and unbreakable loyalty. When she was diagnosed with aggressive, incurable cancer, the world stopped.
Four-hour drives to oncologists. Consultations with specialists, holistic therapists, dermatologists — anyone who might ease her pain or buy one more good day. The bills mounted. The hours blurred. None of it mattered. Joey deserved the best life possible, and that meant doing whatever it took.
When Joey passed, the grief was profound. But so was the clarity. That devotion — that whatever it takes mindset — crystallized into a calling. Outside Feet was built for people who feel about their pets the way we felt about Joey.
We exist for people who don’t just want someone to ‘watch’ their dog or cat — they want someone who will see them, know them, and care for them with the same intensity they would themselves.

How do I get started?
It starts with a conversation. Reach out by phone, text, or the contact form below and we’ll schedule a free meet & greet — a chance for us to learn about your pet’s personality, routines, and needs, and for your pet to get comfortable with us before service begins.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Northwest Washington DC, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, and Takoma Park — covering neighborhoods from Tenleytown to Brookland and into Montgomery County, Maryland.
Do you offer last-minute bookings?
Yes. We understand that life doesn’t always follow a schedule. We accommodate last-minute requests, evening walks, and weekend availability whenever possible. Just call or text us.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Outside Feet is a fully licensed and insured professional pet care company. Your pet’s safety is our first priority.
What happens if my pet has a medical emergency?
Every member of our team is trained in pet first aid and emergency protocols. We keep your veterinarian’s contact information on file and will act immediately to get your pet the care they need — then notify you right away.
What’s included in the walk or visit reports?
Every service ends with a detailed report covering your pet’s mood, energy level, appetite, bathroom activity, and any behavioral observations. You’ll also receive photos from the session. These aren’t generic checklists — they’re personalized updates written by the caregiver who was actually with your pet.
Can you administer medication?
Absolutely. Whether it’s oral medication, eye drops, or topical treatments, our team is trained to handle medication administration during any walk or visit. We’ll discuss the details during your meet & greet.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We ask that cancellations be made by 8:00 AM on the day of service. Cancellations received by that time will receive a credit toward a future session. We know things come up — just give us as much notice as you can.
Why is Outside Feet more expensive than other pet care services?
Because we do more. Every session includes enrichment activities, behavioral observations, and a detailed personalized report — not just a walk around the block. Our team is professionally trained, licensed, and insured. We invest in continuous education and hold ourselves to standards most pet care companies don’t. The $35 you pay reflects the quality, attention, and expertise your pet receives.
